一、掌握比死背单词有用
想从容应对IELTS，要掌握的英语单词是4000个还是20000个?对中国学生最关注的单词量问题，克莱尔女士表示，需要掌握的单词很难量化，IELTS考试听力、阅读部分选用的文章都来自英语国家的日常生活，因此并没有绝对的数字。此外，IELTS评定考生的成绩划分为0到9级，因此掌握英语单词量不相同的学生都能得到对应的成绩。

二、说***不说分数高
另一个困扰中国考生的问题是哑巴英语，口试是IELTS区别于TOFEL等英语考试的重要点。两位专家表示，口试的内容同阅读和听力相关。我们并不在意你的观点正确与否，也不单单在乎你的口语中出现了多少语法错误，我们看重的是你能否清晰地表达自己的观点，并有充分的逻辑和足够的理由来支撑这些观点，说多错多和什么都不说，前者肯定分数更高，瓦内莎笑道，你什么都不说，考官怎么鉴定你的英语能力呢?

三、英美文化比口音重要
这两位资深专家重申，IELTS考试面向全世界的考生，它考察考生是否有能力在英语国家生活和学习，因此考生应该更多地接触英美文化。因此，考生考试时讲英式口音或美式口音，不会影响他们的分数，但对英语国家文化了解的程度，则会对他们英语沟通的表达和理解产生影响。
