1. mind作名词,意为“思想,想法”,如:change one’s mind (改变主意),make up one’s mind (下定决心)等。mind作动词,意为“介意,反对”,常用于表达委婉、客气的请求。
1)mind用于疑问句或否定句中,可与条件状语从句连用,表示请求或许可。例如:

2)“Do / Would you mind doing ...?与Do you mind + 人称代词宾格或形容词性物主代词 + doing”的意思不同。
“Do / Would you mind doing ...”意为“请你……好吗?”,而“Do you mind + 人称代词宾格或形容词性物主代词 + doing ...?”则表示征求对方的意见,意为让某人做某事。例如:

1)征求对方意见

—OK / Sure / Certainly / Of course.
Will / Could you please (not) + 动词原形。例如:
Will / Could you please help me solve the chemistry problems?
Would you mind helping me solve the chemistry problems?
You’d better (not) / 动词原形。例如:
You’d better not cough or sneeze in public.
2)邀请对方。例如:
Let’s go to the library together?
3)提出建议
Why not / Why don’t you + 动词原形;What / How about + v-ing。例如:
Why don’t you get her a scarf as her birthday gift?

What / How about buying a nice scarf for her birthday?
D) You should / You are supposed to + 动词原形。例如:
You shouldn’t (aren’t supposed to) eat unhealthy food often.
