在中职英语教学过程中,教师对学生的综合评价有着重要的导学意义。传统的以期末考试为唯一的评价手段明显不足以激发中职学生学习的积极性和自信心。所以近两年在教学过程中笔者尝试用“英语成长袋”作为实施学生评价的关键,提倡使用快乐评价方法,唤醒学生对待学习的热情,挖掘学生学习的潜力,让他们体验到成功与成长的乐趣。
一、“英语成长袋”的范畴
“英语成长袋”属于形成性评价。早在50年代,美国心理学家Bloom根据评价的目的,把教学评价分为三大类:配置性评价、形成性评价和终结性评价,形成性评价是1967年由美国著名评价学家Scriven提出的,他强调要开展以“调节教学过程,保证更好地实施教育目标”为目标的评价活动。
形成性评价又称为“课堂评价或课堂评估”、成绩档案评价等。Black&Willam(1998)认为各种术语的意思大致相同,而表达形式有所不同。可见,形成性评价就是基于对学生日常学习过程中的表现及所反映出的情感、态度、策略等方面的发展所进行的持续观察、记录、反思而得出的评价。
二、“英语成长袋”的内容
1. 封面。
要求:自我设计,但是内容得用英语书写;标题:“英语成长袋”;类别:姓名、班级、学号、教师姓名、爱好和格言。
2. 成长页。
每周至少放入两张英语成长页到“英语成长袋”里。一张与教师上课内容紧密相关,可以是课堂比赛成绩单、对本周所学内容的总结、课堂测试单,等等。笔者在教学过程中经常会在课堂里举办比赛,如英语书写比赛、手抄报比赛、听歌写单词比赛等等。通常会提早通知学生比赛时间,并在课堂或课余时间指导学生,让他们有充分的准备。如:若在第十三周周三第二节课举行英语听歌写单词比赛,笔者会在第十周就通知学生具体的比赛时间和比赛范围内的歌曲。这样学生可以充分准备好,并在准备的过程中自我学习,自我进步。他们进步的印证便是成长页。
另外一张,学生可以发挥自己的想象力、创造力,搜集有趣的资料。搜集范围极为广泛,只要与英语相关即可。如好的英文歌、英文诗、英文格言、英文小规律、英文笑话、英文小体会、英文杂志和英文单词记忆法等。每周选出比较好的资料来跟全班一起分享,直接在课堂上让学生展示或贴在教室公布栏。
成长页的评价由两部分组成:第一,学生自评。学生自己给自己的成长页写评价或感想。第二,教师的评价,教师写评语或给A到C 三个等级的分数。通常在学期开始就跟学生说明白,他们期末要拿回家给父母看的成绩并非期末英语考试成绩,而是用成长袋里的成长页评定的综合平均成绩。
3. 底页。
写一句勉励学生学习英语的话或名言。如:I am a slow walker,but I never walk backward.我走得很慢,但是我从来不后退。(林肯)
三、“英语成长袋”的意义
(1)以学生为主体。“英语成长袋”以促进学生的全面发展为目的,在承认学生个体差异的基础上,对其知识、能力和情感因素等各方面进行考虑,力求通过评价帮助学生更清楚地认知自我。
(2)注重过程。“英语成长袋”是一种关注学生学习过程的持续性评价,在师生共同的努力下,在教学活动中进行监控、反思,使教学活动更有针对性,并始终能朝着健康的方向发展。
(3)开放发展。“英语成长袋”促进学生自我发展的特点决定了其评价方式和手段的多样性和开放性。教师可以采用开放式的描述性评价,学生可以在比较大的范围内自主地选择学习材料、合作对象等。“英语成长袋”中的某个任务完成的过程就是学生获取知识和形成能力的过程,能真实地反映出学生的进步情况,在学习过程中得到激励,增强自信心和成就感,形成继续学习的动力。
“英语成长袋”的使用满足了学生的成就感心理,引导学生认知自我,评估自我,进而反思自我、欣赏自我和激励自我,达到促进学生健康成长和发展的目的。

(5)在学校里或社会上举行的英语活动的获奖证书复印件或活动凭证。

2.通过制定和填写自我评价表进行自我评价
学生可以通过制定和填写自评表进行反思式自我评价。教师和学生应该共同制定英语学习自评表,评价表格记录学生对自己各阶段英语学习的兴趣、态度、语言知识、能力以及学习策略等评价的情况,通过填写自评表获得个人反馈,并将每次的自评建档,全面地了解自己在某一段时间所学知识和技能的情况。
(1)课前自我评价表的制定。
学生通过制定课前自我评价表,让学生有目的地预习课文,学生将初步了解所要学习的基本内容,产生强烈的求知欲。这种强烈的求知欲将使学生在课堂上变被动为主动,而且也培养了学生自学能力。
(2)课堂自我评价表的制定。
(3)周末自主学习评价表的制定。
(4)课外阅读自我评价表的制定。
为了提高学生的阅读能力。除了在课堂上完成同步阅读外,让每个学生在课外自主阅读自己喜欢的英语课外读物,并做好记录和读书报告,并进行自我评价。
学生通过对自己学习的适当监控和反思,掌握并调整适合自己的学习策略,可增强学生对学习的责任感,能使学生在学习过程中得到激励,形成继续努力的动力,促进学生综合语言运用能力的全面发展。
三、进行初中生英语学习自我评价的意义
初中生英语学习自我评价可以改变学生以往仅仅以考试成绩来评价自己的观点,培养学生客观的评价能力,使学生在英语学习的过程中不断体验进步和成功,建立自信;其次是帮助学生更好地认识自己,树立起学习英语的信心和责任感,学会主动地学习,形成自主学习能力,并结合学校教学实际,发展学生的语言能力和语言技能,促进学生综合语言运用能力的提高。同时,它也可以促使教师改变以往片面地以考试成绩来衡量学生的观点,促使教师更深入地去观察学生、了解学生,使教师从中获取英语教学的反馈信息,以便于对自己的教学行为进行反思和适当的调整,促进教师不断提高教学水平。

教学评价是以教学目标为依据,按照科学的标准,运用一切有效的技术手段,对教学过程及结果进行测量,并给予价值判断的过程。它是教学过程中必不可少的一部分。具有诊断、激励、调节、教学作用。
一、形成性评价
1976 年美国著名评价学专家斯克里芬(Scriven)提出来形成性评价,与之对应的是终结性评价。简单来讲,形成性评价更注重学生学习的过程,而终结性评价则注重学生学习的结果,就是我们说的期末考试成绩之类。在传统教育中,我们更注重的是学生学习成绩,也就一味的只要学生成绩好就行,这样对学生的全面发展是很大的阻碍。形成性评价则通过教师评价(Teacher Assessment)、自我评价(Self-assessment)、同伴评价(Peer Assessment)对学生在学习过程不断地进行检验,发现问题,解决问题。
二、大学英语教学
如今大学英语已经成了一门必修课程,大学生在校期间必须修英语课,并且在合适的时间参加大学四六级考试;在全球化的推动下,我们对外语的要求也逐步的在提高,因此,大学英语教学同高中英语教学已经大不相同了,我们不光希望学生能掌握语法知识来做题,而且希望学生能够在听、说、读、写、译各个方面有所提高,并且能够应用。就以西安某大学普通大学英语教育为例来说明。
大学英语是每学期的必修课,而且课时不少于60课时。学生最终的英语成绩不再像过去一样只凭单一的期末考试,而是包括五部分,即:平时成绩10%、口语考试成绩10%、交互英语10%、期中考试成绩20%、期末考试成绩50%.我们可以看出,期中考试只占20%,而期末考试占50%,与以前的期末占90%差之甚远啊。而其中的平时成绩则包括学生的出勤率还有学生做课前presentation口语展示的情况,口语展示的形式不定,学生可以根据自己的兴趣进行英语演讲、诗歌朗诵背诵或者戏剧表演、电影配音等等各种形式进行选择。不少通过对口语展示的准备和表演,提高了对英语学习的兴趣,而且通过口语展示,展现了自己的才能,同学间相互的合作更是增进了学生间的情谊。学生口语考试则是根据期末对学生口语情况测评得出的分值,教师对学生进行分组,话题则为本学期学习课文话题,要求学生对此学期所学习的话题表达自己的看法想法,目的在于让学生学会通过合作表达自己的想法意见,对课文内容熟悉。而期末考试与期中考试的设置也是根据所学内容多少来确定比例的,期末考试所占比例为期中的二倍多一点,因为到学期末,所学内容也是比期中多一倍。而在教学过程中,我们也是按照教学计划,每进行一单元的读写课,都会安排听力课程。由此,我们看出,这样的课程设置,对学生的学习兴趣的培养和良好学习习惯的形成有很大激发作用,学生的成绩不再能够靠期末考试前的突击来得到,而是要靠不断的努力和积累取得最终好成绩。
三、大学英语教学中的形成性评价
上文中,我们介绍到形成性评价有教师评价、自我评价、同伴评价。因此,在教学过程中,我们划分了学习小组,对学生的评价不光由教师完成,而且学生自己也要进行反思,学习小组之内也可以相互评价,相互指出不足,帮助对方指出问题,然后一起解决问题。我们知道,传统的教学强调学生的笔试能力,而有些学生应试能力很差劲,久而久之就会对学生的学习积极性造成影响,而通过师生的合作,我们在学习过程中可以及时发现问题,一起解决问题,这样,对学生的学习有很大的帮助。上文中我们详述了某高校英语教学的过程和内容,我们可以看出来,这样的教学过程中,我们不光有读写还有听力教学。而在课堂上,教师也应该充分发挥学生的主观能动性,多给学生发言表达的机会。而在教学过程中,用英语教学,这样,不光营造了说英语的环境,而且鼓励学生用英语交流,努力的去听周围的英语。我们在教学过程中还可以通过各种导入方法对学生进行启发,比如用电影节选,或者诗歌,或者简单地问答,都会激发学生用英语表达的兴趣。因为平时成绩也是最终成绩的一部分。
传统的教学或者以前的高中教学,都特别强调学生的考试成绩,因此,对于有些高考英语中不设置听力部分的地区的学生来说,他们学的都是哑巴英语,好多同学都是可以听懂别人在讲什么,但是自己却表达不出来。或者有些同学一味的遵循语法规则,不注重口语化的表达,这样,别人使用一些口语表达时,他们就听不懂。还有些学生是可以读懂别人写的东西,但却听不懂别人说的,或者自己说的别人听不懂,因为在学习英语过程中不注重口语发音的问题,这些都是应试教育下的弊端和学生形成的陋习。
而在实行形成性评价教学学习过程中,我们对英语的教学就不光强调学生的应试能力了,而且要求学生在听说读写各个方面进行锻炼提高。在四六级考试中,听力和阅读的分值一样大,分别占整个考试的35%,所以听力分值的设置也正体现出来我们不能只有语法知识,还要求学生有相当的听力能力。所以,我们可以发现,在大学中,形成性评价更有必要也更容易实施。
四、总结
由上文简析,我们得知,传统的终结性评价这种教学评价方式不利于学生的全面发展和对学习兴趣的培养。而形成性评价的合理实施则会帮助学生学习英语时听说读写各个反面的提高和进步。而且,在现在的教学条件下,形成性评价也是有一定的可行性的,但是也存在一些具体实施过程中度和量的把握的问题需要我们继续探讨。总之,形成性评价更有助于对学生学习过程进行把握,有利于学生学习英语的兴趣的培养,而且有助于学生形成良好的学习习惯。
