新课程标准指出,在教学中,教师应根据学生的年龄特点和认知能力,逐步扩展文化知识的内容和范围,提高学生对中外文化异同的敏感性和鉴别能力。现行初中英语教材有意识地安排了英语国家的文化背景知识,力求在语言教学过程中潜移默化地传授文化知识,让学生感受英语国家的文化氛围。这就要求教师将语言教学与文化教学有机地结合起来,培养学生从跨文化交际的角度使用语言的能力。
一、进行文化意识教育是语言与文化关系的要求。
语言是文化的一种表现形式,语言与文化的关系是十分密切的。语言既是文化的产物,又是文化的载体,它依附社会而存在,伴随社会而发展。如果抽去社会文化内容,语言就只剩下了空洞的外壳。中国与英语国家有着不同的文化背景,在风俗习惯、、思维方式、道德观、价值观等方面存在着很大的差异。中西方文化内涵的差异必然造成了语言现象的差异,在语言的词汇系统、语用系统中也会有所反映,如有些词在英汉两种语言中就有不同的涵义,有不同的联想意义。在中国,大多数人对猫特别厚爱,而在西方文化中“cat”被用来描绘残酷的女人。学生如不了解文化,在交际过程中就会不可避免地遇到文化障碍。因此,只有让学生充分地了解其文化背景,培养学生的文化意识,加强对所学英语的理解和领悟,才能使其在交际中准确、得体地使用英语。
目前,初中英语教学中往往过多地强调语言知识的传授,忽略了对学生跨文化意识的培养,忽视了语言的社会环境,特别是语言的文化差异,致使学生难以知道什么场合该说什么话,从而忽视了对学生交际能力的培养及锻炼。其中一个重要原因就是教师没有注意到语言和文化的密不可分性。因此,教师有必要在传授语言的同时同步传授英语国家的文化知识,让学生通过所学语言了解其与该语言有关的民族的生活方式和思想,以促进国际交流与合作。
二、初中英语教学中渗透文化意识的策略
1、创设情景对话的文化语境。
在初中英语教学中,学生最容易发生的就是用语错误,这不仅是交际用语的使用规范和礼仪习俗造成的,更重要的是受英语国家文化背景语境因素的制约。我们通过创设情景对话就是要让学生记住相关的交际用语,接收英语国家文化背景知识,利用适当的对话训练,鼓励学生多开口说英语,激发学生英语学习兴趣,减少“哑巴英语”的形成。
2、通过对比的方式进行文化教学。
作为初中英语教师,在进行英语教学时,可以通过对比本国文化和英语国家文化两种文化的异同,突显中西两种文化的差异,刺激学生对差异的敏感度,主要可以从价值观、思维方式两方面去对比,比如谦虚是我国的传统美德,在交往的过程中别人赞扬自己时,自己却会谦虚一番:哪里、哪里,很一般了。而在英语国家里当别人赞扬自己时都会很开心的说"Thank you",如果一个中国人和一个美国人交谈时,中国人拒绝赞扬,会让对方认为自己做错了什么事,导致交际失败的。这只是一个很简单的例子,说明让学生充分认识文化差异,使学生客观、理性的对待中西文化的不同特征,加宽文化知识面,才能正确运用英语进行交流。
3、引导学生阅读西方文化材料。
初中英语教学的课时有限,仅仅依靠教师在课堂上的教学是很难达到培养学生交际能力的要求的,在这种情况下教师要引导学生利用课外时间大量阅读西方英语材料,从作品中吸收西方文化知识,增进对西方文化的了解,还可以利用课堂教学的时间让学生对自己阅读的文化材料进行交流,提高学生跨文化交流的能力。
展开研究性课程,加宽学生知识面。研究性课程是学生在教师的指导下根据自己的条件选择不同的课题展开研究,从而获取知识。我们可以为学生提供几个课程选择,比如①西方人的幽默。②英汉谚语的对应;③中、西方人日常用语的差异等课题展开研究。教师根据学生的选题,把学生组合起来帮助他们制定研究计划,让学生根据研究计划,分头去收集材料,最后集中在一起整理,相互讨论,这样不仅使学生学到很多英语国家的文化知识,加宽了学生的知识面,也利于学生加强交流,启发思维,共同提高。

感恩既是中华民族的传统美德,也是西方文明的精髓。《三字经》中说:“人之初,性本善。”如果存有感恩之心,能够对身边的人与物怀抱感激之情,那么将会唤醒学生的善良本性,培养学生的良好道德,促进学生健康成长。在小学阶段对孩子做感恩教育是非常重要且必要的,我们所使用的英语教材里面就充满了感恩教育元素,作为教师要懂得如何合理地运用教材,培养学生的感恩意识,并教导学生如何用语言和行动表达自己的感恩之情。
教材是德育教育的载体,依据教材发掘德育素材是实施德育的前提。无论哪个学科的教师都要加强德育的育人意识,做到寓德育于日常教学之中。根据我校提倡的“礼、义、仁、智、信”的德育教育理念和牛津教材的特点,我们英语教研组筛选了8个中外传统节日,与现有的的教材相整合,“将中西方节日与英语教W相整合对学生进行思想教育的研究”,旨在以英语课堂为载体,通过语言知识、语言技能、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识培养等方面唤醒学生的感恩情怀,让学生在学习英语过程中,树立正确的思想,得到了良好的德育教育。我就以“母亲节”为例,谈谈自己如何将感恩教育融入英语课堂的体会。
二、课堂实践
在今年母亲节过后,我给五年级的学生上了一堂以母亲节为主题的英语课。母亲节这个话题在两年级时已经有所涉及,但由于低年级学生的词汇量有限,只能融入我们要爱妈妈的情感教育。五年级学生的词汇量有了一定的积累,所以我定的情感目标是通过学习,学生能了解在西方通常人们是如何过母亲节的,通过学习讨论激发学生对自己母亲的感激之情。
本节课是围绕以下几方面展开的:
1.儿歌引入,渲染氛围:英语儿歌,音韵流畅,易于上口,节奏轻快,具有鲜明的音乐性和节奏感,朗朗上口,简单易学,深受学生的喜爱,为学生的英语学习提供了方便。在准备阶段说唱英语儿歌能促进学生迅速地作好上英语课的心理准备。我让学生朗读的是二年级时与母亲节有关的儿歌,“Dear Mummy,I love you. I love your smile. I love you so. A big hug and a big kiss. Mummy,Mummy,I love you so. Happy,happy Mother’s Day. I hope you’re happy everyday. Mummy,Mummy,I love you so. ”这首儿歌整体难度不大,所以让学生直接跟着flash说一说,学生说一说,演一演,在这个轻松愉快的气氛中,注意力便很快地集中到课堂上来,学生也能意识到今天的主题就是母亲节,在此基础上就能自然地引出本课主题母亲节,母亲是每个学生最熟悉的人,让学生们各自说说自己的母亲是怎样的一个人,母亲为我们做了什么,复习已学过的形容词和动词词组,感受母爱的伟大。
2.结合教学,体会母爱。五年级这一学期的教学重点是一般过去时态,而妈妈为我们所做的很多动词词组我们已经学习过了,所以我们的重点在于让学生在表达的过程中要掌握“cleaned the room,cooked food”等做家务有关的动词过去式词组,让学生在交流的过程中体会到母亲操持家务是非常辛劳的。
3.开展活动,感恩母亲。在活动环节我先让学生阅读一段围绕两个人如何过母亲节展开的对话,在阅读后的练习中运用和巩固了一般过去时,并进一步感知了他人是如何感恩母亲的。在这段对话的最后两人提到应该天天过母亲节,我让学生在小组中讨论是否同意这个观点,如果同意的话我们又能为母亲做些什么力所能及的事。小组讨论后结果是一致的,同意每天过母亲节,因为学生在上课的过程中已经体会到母亲既要工作又要照顾家人是非常辛苦的,而自己也已经能做很多家务了,就应该主动帮母亲分担些家务,减轻母亲的负担,回报无私的母爱。课后的作业我要求学生用日记的形式记录自己是如何渡过母亲节的,用上新学的过去式词组与句型。学生在写作的同时,进一步感受了母爱和感恩的情怀,更明确了要回报母爱,就要从日常生活中的小事做起。
三、体会
英语教学作为语言教学的一个过程,同时更是一个情感交流的过程,通过英语教学中的情感教育,既可以帮助学生塑造良好的品行,激发学生的学习兴趣,培养学生的感恩之心。在英语教学过程中学生只有在真实的语言情境或模拟的情境中才能更好地组织思维,理解具体情境中所传递的信息和情感,激发学生表达的欲望,从而促进学生运用外语理解和表达思想的能力。
在新授环节我让学生通过谈论自己的母亲来感受母爱的伟大,接着让学生用一般过去式说说在母亲节做了什么,通过这两轮讨论来真实的体验其中蕴含的情感。我们在平时的教学中,不仅要向学生传授系统的语言文化知识,还要有目的有针对性地对学生进行正确的道德影响和真、善、美的熏陶,从而培养学生正确的道德品质。

一、《别离辞·节哀》的隐喻

它是抽象与具体,遥远与临近,崇高与平凡的合体"。本诗第七节中运用了一个玄学诗中最妙的意象: 邓恩将他们的爱比作一付圆规。从画圆的过程说明了两人的和谐统一。一只脚在外面画圆的时候,圆心脚就会随之倾斜。虽然圆心脚站在中心,但无论另一只脚去哪儿,圆心脚就倾斜向哪儿,而且另一只脚去的越远,圆心脚倾斜的越厉害。以圆规的两脚来比喻分离的夫妻,走到哪儿就把思念带到哪儿, 走得越远就越是牵挂, 这紧密结合的两颗灵魂, 由于他们已渗透了彼此的心灵, 因此他们的灵魂永远不会分开。当诗人不得不离开他的妻子时, 他确信妻子的灵魂是紧紧伴随着他的。诗人非常体恤妻子, 知道妻子对自己的牵挂,有妻子这样默默的支持他才能认认真真做好自己的事业。没有圆心脚,也就没了圆心,怎能画圆呢?诗人意在表明完美圆满的爱情是需要双方共同努力经营的。

17 世纪初英国出现一批诗人,喜欢使用 "奇喻"(conceit) ,被称之为玄学派诗人。所谓奇想妙喻,指的是一种悖逆性的隐喻,通过喻体与喻指之间的非相似性给读者的心灵带来震撼。作为玄学派大师,邓恩更是都采用崭新的方式来表达。他彻底抛弃了彼特拉克式抒情诗直接的陈述和一目了然的比喻,另辟蹊径,走了一条以形象比喻传达思想,通过思想表达感情的新路。他的爱情诗充满激情,但不是把感情直接说出,而是把感情哲理化;他的爱情诗中不乏思想,但也不是把感情直接说出,而是把思想意象化,使诗歌在智力与激情、思想与知觉上达成了某种平衡,从而根本改变了爱情诗单纯抒情的传统。邓恩还一反文艺复兴爱情十四行诗从自然景物中取喻的传统,而大量从天文学、地理学、医学、数学等当时的新领域中寻找意象,并根据自己独特的感受和经验将表面千差万别的东西"生拉硬扯"地到一块(如把恋爱的情人比作跳蚤) ,这种意象或比喻显得晦涩难懂,但却引人入胜。给读者带来惊艳的真理。思索过后却使人震慑于其惊人的准确性和深度。奇喻是邓恩的哲学思辨以及对宗教的虔诚表达。而这种独特的方式,又使读者对原本熟悉的事物产生了陌生感,产生了新奇的陌生化效果,增强了诗歌的张力。
在英国诗歌史上,邓恩并不是第一位使用"奇思妙喻"的诗人,然而,在他之前,除了莎士比亚的几首诗外,这种技巧还仅局限于戏剧诗和讽刺诗创作。邓恩将其推而广之,大量地运用于爱情诗甚至宗教诗,从而生成严肃与讽刺、激情与戏谑兼有的综合效果。读邓恩的《别离辞·节哀》,体会邓恩的奇喻,是欣赏邓恩诗歌的最好方法。17 世纪英国诗人的作品深受邓恩的影响。他们都曾受过良好的教育,他们对新发现、新哲学、新观念极感兴趣,并频繁出国旅行,这些共同的因素激发他们的想象,这些诗歌的特征在于对复杂的理性观念的运用,它的风格不仅仅局限于用一种具有普遍意义的物体来证明两种不同物体在感性上的相似性。大部分的诗歌都包含鲜明的意象,这些意象能引发我们思考,这"不同于那些吸引我们的感官或通过记忆来激发情感反应的意象" 。
