在农村中学执教英语多年，发现许多学生在七年级起始阶段就出现明显的两极分化现象，部分学生甚至早就决定了放弃学英语。他们认为学英语比学什么都难。借用学生的话说，叫做“翻开书，他认识我，我不认识他。”这一状况，令我们非常苦恼。怎样改善呢？首先得找到根本原因。经过多方面的努力，我认为最根本的原因是：①学生记单词困难，看不懂。②全英文课堂，听不懂。看来，想要提高七年级学生的英语水平，当务之急就是要把这“两不懂”变成“两懂”。可是该从何处着手呢？答案是：从语音教学开始着手。
英语课程标准指出：学生在英语基础教育阶段应该学习和掌握包括语音、词汇、语法、功能和话题等五个方面的基础知识。语言有三大要素：语音、词汇和语法，其中语音是最基本的因素。语音是学好语言的基础，语音教学是语言教学的重要内容之一。由此可见：七年级英语语音教学的重要性非同一般。
一、有利于正确发音，帮助学生正确地“说出来”，顺利地“听进去”。我们地区的小学英语教材使用的是新人教版教材。尽管这套教材比较重视语音的教学，但并不要求学生从理论的高度来掌握那些语音知识，而且在实际的教学活动中，教师通常把语音教学这一环省略了。学生要想记住单词的读音，只好发挥他们“超级的创造力”――有的给单词下面写上谐音汉字，有的给单词注上汉语拼音。时间久了，同一个单词，不同的学生就读出了不同的音，谁也听不懂谁的了。而如果学生掌握了系统、正确的语音知识，则有利于正确发音，从而可以做到正确地“说出来”，顺利地“听进去”。
二、提高识记单词的效率。由于学生在升入初中后只能靠“鹦鹉学舌”的方法跟在老师后面一遍遍地读单词，这种机械的训练不但费时而且记不住。很多学生抱怨：老师，我昨天晚上记了一个多小时，全都记会了，可到了今天早上全都忘了。其实这都是因为学生不懂字母及字母组合在单词中的发音规律导致的。如果学生能“见其形而知其音”或“听其音而知其形”，克服机械的死记硬背，那么就可以大大提高拼读和识记单词的效率。
三、提高自学英语的能力，增强学好英语的自信心。小学生在学好了汉语拼音后，就可以阅读带注音的课外书籍了。同理，中学生在掌握了音标知识后，也能提前预习新单词了，还可以通过查字典，扩大词汇量，从而培养和提高自学英语的能力。随着成就感的增强，学好英语的自信心也必然随之增强。
看来语音教学在七年级英语教学中的重要性是毋庸置疑的了。下面让我来谈谈具体的操作方法吧。
首先，整合教材资源，提前集中学习音标。仁爱版英语教材非常重视语音教学，但是语音教材教学内容的安排很分散且学习过程长――整个七年级上下册才把48个因素和常见字母及字母组合的发音规律学完。八年级才逐渐呈现浊化、连读、失爆、重音等语音知识。
其次，多种方法化枯燥为生动。集中学习音标必然很枯燥，因此必须采用灵活多变的方法。可以将发音部位利用多媒体呈现给学生；可以利用汉语拼音的正迁移作用训练音标。
第三，分配任务，及时总结。出于学习音标及常见字母及字母组合的发音规律时，时间紧，内容多。尽管学生有了一定的语音基础，但印象很模糊，还不能深刻理解音标与单词之间的关系，不能深刻体会音标的好处。例如，学生会问：ea字母组合可以发/i：/也可以发/e/的音，还会不会有更多的呢？为了解开学生的疑团我把班上的学生分成七组，每组5人，并布置了不同的任务，每组任务如下：
一组，在七上、七下的单词表中查出所有含有/i：/ /?/ /e/ /? / / ?/的单词，并着总结哪些字母及字母组合常发这个音：二组，查找出所有含有/ ?：/ /?/ /唬/ /?/ /?：/的单词，并总结有哪些字母及字母组合常发这个音；三组，查找出所有含有/?/ /U：/ /e?/ /a?/ / ??/的单词，并总结有哪些字母及字母组合常发这个音；四组，查找出所有含有/??/ /a?/ /??/ /e?/ /??/的单词，并总结有哪些字母及字母组合常发这个音；五组，查找至少5个分别含有/p/ /b/ / t/ /d/ / k/ /g/ /t?/ /d?/ /tr/ /dr/的单词，并总结哪些字母及字母组合常发这个音；六组，查找至少5个分别含有/ts/ /dz/ /f/ /v/ /θ / /?/ /z/ /s/ /?/的单词，并总结哪些字母及字母组合常发这个音；七组，查找至少5个分别含有/?/ /m/ / j/ / ?/ / h/ /n/ / w/ /?/ / r/的单词，并总结哪些字母及字母组合常发这个音。
最后，鼓励学有余力的学生在课余多做泛听、泛读练习。教师可以帮助学生选择泛听材料，亦可以让学生看简单的原版英文电影及电视，学唱英文歌曲等。以便于更大限度地培养英语语感，感受失爆、重音、连读等语音知识，提高英语能力。

0.引言
教科书中的插***，能够帮助学生直观的了解***片内容，吸引学生的注意力。教科书中的插***想要良好的发挥出作用，需要充分考虑到学生与教师的感受。一本***文并茂、插***与文字良好结合的教科书不仅仅能够有效提高学生的学习积极性，同时也有利于教师开展教学，符合我国新课程改革的要求。
1.仁爱版初中英语教科书插***的分析
笔者通过对仁爱版初中英语教科书的插***进行统计与分析发现，七年级上册插***总数488幅，96页。七年级下册495幅，96页。八年级上册564幅，96页。八年级下册563幅，96页。九年级上册406幅，96页，九年级下册213幅，48页。
从以上的数据分析可以发现仁爱版初中英语教科书其中的插***十分丰富。通过对学生认识规律的考虑与学生理解能力、思维水平的提升，插***数量随着年级的增加而减少。特别是到了9年级学生进入到复习阶段，插***数量的减少符合该阶段学习的要求。
从插***的表现形式进行分析发现，七年级上册照片17幅，卡通漫画类392幅，卡通简笔27幅，***表52幅。七年级下册照片15幅，卡通漫画类399幅，卡通简笔24幅，***表57幅。八年级上册照片18幅，卡通漫画类472幅，卡通简笔15幅，***表59幅。八年级下册照片20幅，卡通漫画类469幅，卡通简笔11幅，***表63幅。九年级上册照片78幅，卡通漫画类267幅，卡通简笔9幅，***表52幅。九年级上册照片58幅，卡通漫画类129幅，卡通简笔2幅，***表24幅。从上组数据可以发现照片数量与年级成正比关系，而***表与卡通类则随着年级的出现先增后减的趋势。不同的***片形式对学生有不同的教学意义，特别是照片由于复合学生直观理念的增长因素照片比例出现增长。但是在实际的教学应用中仍然存在问题。
2.仁爱版初中英语教科书插***应用存在的问题
（1）学生对教科书中的***片存在比较浓厚的兴趣，但是其对***片的认知仅仅是停留在表面，无法做到对***片与教学内容的联合思考，无法理解插***对教学的帮助点在哪里。
（2）学生由于受到自身知识的限制只能了解插***的大致意思，无法深入理解其信息，无法理解插***在这里插入的本质。
（3）学生对插***的理解不够深，就会影响到对教学内容的理解[1]。教师对插***的理解即使通过讲解也不能代替学生自身对***片的理解，长期在这种思想惰性的影响下学生不愿意对插***进行深入思考，影响了插***在教科书中的应用。
3.仁爱版初中英语教科书插***应用研究
3.1以***引出教学意义
探究插***的作用，其最主要的目的在于引发学生的学习兴趣[2]。从这一点教师应该充分利用插***的特点进行教学。
例如，以仁爱版七年级下册第6单元的《Our Local Area》为例，教师利用插***进行教学。师：同学们现在请你们根据课文中的这幅插***进行思考，这个扎着两个小辫子的同学是在什么环境下做着什么？整幅***传递出来什么信息呢？生：这个同学拿着书本在学习，从人物的表情上可以发现这个同学学习的十分快乐，在这位同学的身后是一个书柜，书柜里全是书。师：这个同学回答的特别好，说明这位同学有认真思考。同学们再思考这样一个问题，为什么这个同学拿着书本的表情是微笑、愉快的？现在让我们进入今天的学习。教师利用学生初步建立的的情感体检的基础上调动学生的学习积极性，让学生跟随教师的教学步骤进入到学习中。
3.2以***诠释做人道理
英语教科书中很大一部分的插***表达出培养学生健全人格、提高德育教育效率的目的[3]。教师在教学过程中联合插***将做人的道理穿教学中，让学生在学习英语知识的同时教会其做人的道理。
例如，某教师在进行仁爱版八年级上册2单元的教学时，首先让同学们熟悉这段内容，让学生利用英语朗读一遍之后，又利用中文翻译一遍。这时教师抛出一个问题，师：我们设身处地的思考一下这样一个问题，当我们班级中有同学也住院了，你们会怎么做呢？另外观察第二幅插***，病床上的同学是一种什么表情？这个表情说明了什么？生：如果我们班级中也有同学住院了我们肯定会去医院看望他。生：插***2中可以看出躺在床上的同学因为其他同学来医院看望他忘记了病痛，显得十分高兴。在同学回答完问题后，教师补充了插***中隐含的知识后又补充了在日常生活中看望病人应该多安慰人。

例如，某教师在进行《Who is your favourite character in literature》的教学时，并没有先进行教学内容的教学，而是以插***作为切入点，首先对这几幅插***的一些知识点阐述出来，让学生有一个大致了解，从而激发学生对艺术作品的欣赏，通过这种方式调动学生的学习积极性，之后教师再转回到教学课文的学习，学生在之前分为的感染下积极、专注的参与到教师的教学中，不仅提高了教学质量，同时也提高了学生对艺术的鉴赏能力，有效套也了学生情操。

总而言之，插***在英语教科书中具有重要意义，能够激发学生的学习热情，提高学生的课堂专注力，另外从教师的角度而言能够保证良好的教学效果。只是需要注意的是教师在利用插***联合教学的过程中需要采用较为灵活的方式，结合插***的特点进行教学，充分保证教学质量。
